Family Work

The provision of all the activities stems from our Christian Faith. We are seeking to show God’s love within the local community. The whole church prays for the work and the Family Work Team prays for each family that we have contact with.

Family Work

Parent and Toddler Group

We run 2 sessions on Wednesday mornings at the church during school terms. These are for parents/grandparents together with their toddlers.

First Session : 09.00am – 10:30am

Second Session : 11.00am – 12:30pm

The charge of £1.50 per family includes refreshments.

Parents bring their toddlers and babies to meet together and make friends. It is also an opportunity for toddlers to develop their social skills in a larger group.

There are toys, books and jigsaws to play with, craft activities and a story and singing time.

Both sessions are usually full or nearly full with a waiting list so if you are interested in putting your name down please drop in or contact the church office.

We also organise evening meals for parents – a time to relax and enjoy the company of others in the absence of children!

Who Let the Dads Out?

Most of the adults who come on a Wednesday are Mums or Grandparents so once a term we run a session on a Saturday morning for Dads/Granddads and Toddlers. This has proved very popular, not only with the Men, but also with the Mums!

Toddler Sunday Services

From time to time the church offers a Sunday morning service specifically for toddlers and their families. It is very informal with activities for the children. Dates are advertised primarily via Wednesday mornings but will also appear on this site!

Parenting Skills

Most terms we run Parenting Skills courses on Friday mornings with a creche. These are for parents of 0-7 or 5-15 yr olds.

“How to Drugproof Your Kids” and “Quidz In”

These are 2 courses created by the “Care for the Family” organisation and we have been trained to run them locally. Please let us know if you are interested.

“How to Drugproof Your Kids” enables parents to feel more confident, skilled and better equipped to help their children make good lifestyle choices when it comes to alcohol and drugs.

“Quidz In” is a new community programme for parents. Its unique blend of skills, information, and practical, fun things to do at home with children, helps parents teach them sound money management principles.

Exploring Christianity

From time to time we run courses (with creche) over several weeks on Friday mornings covering the essentials of what Christianity is all about from a Biblical perspective. Plenty of time is allowed to discuss all those tricky questions!

Wednesday Afternoons

A small group meets for an hour on Wednesday afternoons, finishing at 3pm, to share joys and sorrows, read the Bible and pray. Any children present play in the same room.
