Heaton Moor Evangelical Church is…

Much more than a building for public Christian Worship.  The Church is people – Christians seeking to develop their relationship with God and to share the love of God within the community.  The strap line “Know Jesus and Make Him Known” tries to encapsulate this.

At HMEC we seek to express the historic Christian faith in an accessible way.  So in a visit to the church on most Sundays you will sing hymns and more recent songs with a music group.  Different people will take part in an informal but serious way and a significant amount of time will be given to preaching and explaining the Bible.

Throughout the week, in groups, activities and events, we pray, study and encourage each other to grow in our understanding of God and our responsibilities in His world.  We want to use the gifts God has given us to help others and to present the Good News of what God has done for mankind in a credible, relevant and challenging way.

HMEC offers people the opportunity to explore the great questions of life from a distinctly Christian perspective.

We are a church committed to developing links in our community.  Our plans include a number of social and educational initiatives, particularly with local schools.  We partner with other local like minded churches to achieve this.  These opportunities enable us to express our desire to be involved, serving the area and demonstrating practically the love of Christ for the whole person – body, mind and spirit.
